Roland and his girlfriend had an interesting relationship, and interesting lives. The relationship between him and Makoto Kino was earnest, healthy, and as strong as teen love could ever be, the two always there to support each other in spite of any differences the ran into.
The relationship between The Master and Sailor Jupiter was more complex. Jupiter was a tried-and-true hero, fighting for her friends and the forces of good to protect every life she could. Roland, especially when he wore his mask, was far more focused on the "end" and less fettered by the side-effects of his "means". Goals, even benevolent ones, sometimes called for sacrifice. And so, despite each knowing who the other was, they sometime met with opposing goals.
As was the case tonight. The sailor senshi had just managed to destroy a monster The Master would have rather observed in order to learn more about its goals. There was little to be done about that now, but he now found himself alone on a rooftop with one of them.
"I warned you last time, Jupiter. Interfering with my goals will not go unpunished!"
Say what you will about him normally, he certainly got into character while transformed. Roland kicked off the ground and aimed a punch straight at Jupiter. He didn't insult her by holding back - her knew they were evenly matched, and could go at it like this for a while.
